Our curriculum is unique as we tend to fuse the Nigerian, British, and Montessori (where applicable) curricula. Upon completion of the early years/Nursery our children are independent, morally and intellectually sound and even lots more, where reading isn’t a problem.
Pupil in basic also upon completion of our year 6 can tackle any questions both internationally and nationally appropriate for their level, they are educationally, morally and vast in all developmental aspects.
Our Students spend 3 years in Senior School. At the end of SS2, students sit for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) examinations and in their final year (SS3) they take the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE). Off they go confidently into the Universities.
Solid Base school can greatly boast of a learning environment that complements all aspects of a child’s curiosity, interest, and development.
Classrooms are organized and the environment is serene and peaceful at all time.
Average class size is 20 pupils/ class in the early years and 15 students/ class in the basic although classes are set to provide for more.
Classrooms are compact but well equipped and all our secondary classes are equipped with interactive boards, high resolution projectors, well ventilated, beautiful and well-furnished with required classroom furniture.
Our laboratories are attractive and well equipped with both pre-requisite IT facilities and resources, and relevant tools to promote high standards of teaching and learning.
As a consequence of the high levels of resource access and IT, lessons are more student-centered, outcome oriented and progressive.
Learners maximize the rich environment to their advantage and our results from external examinations endorse the advantage gained from such an environment.
However, a critical aspect of the school’s learning environment is the consideration of safety and child protection.
We are a sure plug for your children as we offer safe and stimulating environment to help your children curious mind grow into unending reality.
A school library (or what is sometimes called a school library media center) is a library within a school where students, staff, and often, parents of a public or private school have access to a variety of resources. The school library provides information and ideas that are fundamental to functioning successfully in today’s information and knowledge-based society. It equips students with life-long learning skills and develops their imagination, enabling them to live as responsible citizens.
Hence, Solid Base library team encourages reading, believing that “readers are leaders” and that those who are comfortable with reading can easily divert that skill to other academic activities that require reading – whether a story that translates into other pleasurable realms or a text that informs us about new ideas or perspectives. The library enjoys helping students select reading titles that will engage and challenge them as well as improve the quality of research skills they acquire.
The library has about 15,000 books, periodicals, audio-visuals etc. for students, teachers and parents. Our collections include a wide variety of non-fiction titles selected to enhance the academic curriculum (IGCSE to WAEC) as well as many general interest topics. Our fiction section is equally diverse in terms of genre, reading and interest levels. Most books are in English, but we do have a range of titles in French, Igbo and Yoruba languages.
